Tiger Direct Tech Bash Miami 2014 - A Gamers Paradise

I have had a few of you ask me if I attended the TigerDirect Tech Bash this past Friday at Marlins Park in Miami, FL.  And since Marlins Park is just a hop, skip, and a jump away...I just couldn't miss it. 

This event gave consumer electronic manufactures an opportunity to show off their latest gadgets to the over 17,000 attendees at this 3rd annual event.  I experienced innovative products, emerging technologies and interactive entertainment gadgets.

Over 100 vendors set up booths to interact with Florida's Tech Geeks.  Vendors like HP, Lenovo, Nvidia, Fujitsu, Dell/Alienware, Microsoft, all giving the attendees a "test drive" with interactive exhibits.  The Tech Show provided a carnival like technology experience.  This tech carnival included race car simulators, 3D printing, and caricature artist's scribing on large tablets.  And they didn't forget to include the clowns on stilts and jugglers. 

TigerDirect had many more "gaming stations" in their "gaming lounge" than last year.  Gamers spent some time playing their favorite video games on top of the line gaming systems like the Dell Alienware X51.  The Dell Alienware booth put on a raffle for a New Gaming notebook!  Hundreds waited for 9:30pm to come around to see if they had the "Golden Ticket".  And of course...I did not.

This year's TigerDirect Tech Bash had drone demos, virtual reality, 3D printing, and a karaoke box that can instantly improve anyone's voice!  Tech Bash also hosted Regional Computer Building Finalist from all over the country.  They were challenged to a "first to assemble and boot their high performance PC's" competition.  The top finisher received a $1500.00 TigerDirect gift card.  It was great to see these computer technicians race to the finish.  The winner put together a gaming system in about 3 minutes.

Overall the show was an exciting Vegas style trade show...right here in South Florida.  Many don't think of Florida as a Technology state.  As a matter of fact, we are pretty much at the furthest point away from Microsoft Headquarters here in the United States.  But we ARE a technology hub for South American and Europe.  We may be far from Silicon Valley, but us Floridian's are ready to introduce "Silicon Beach" to the rest of the world.
